Help Alexa survive medical abuse and see her daughter again
Active Since 26/07/2026

My name is Alexa Estrella, and I’m not just fighting a rare disease, I’m surviving medical abuse, abandonment, and a completely shattered life.
I have Spinocerebellar Ataxia (SCA3), a cruel and progressive neurological disease that is slowly destroying my coordination, balance, speech, swallowing, vision, and movement. In 2024, doctors in Finland wrongly diagnosed me with depression and prescribed Olanzapine, Quetiapine, and Mirtazapine, medications known to severely worsen ataxia. I trusted them. I took this dangerous cocktail for months.
The result was devastating: I lost the ability to walk, became bedridden for months, and now live with permanent damage. No one took responsibility. No one is liable. They guessed and moved on, while my life fell apart.
On top of everything, since October 2024 I’ve had zero contact with my daughter. My ex-husband took her away from me while I was already sick and broken. The pain of not knowing how she is, if she misses me, or if she thinks I abandoned her destroys me every single day.
I’m a single mother from Rio de Janeiro, completely isolated in Finland with almost no support. Most days I’m trapped in my apartment. My hands shake violently from parkinsonism, my vision is failing fast, and even simple tasks have become extremely difficult. I urgently need more care hours, medication, nutritional support, glasses, a computer, and help with rent just to survive with basic dignity.
There is no cure. The disease keeps progressing and I feel like time is running out.
Every donation will go directly toward:
My urgent medical treatment and care
Legal fees to fight the medical negligence
Fighting to bring my daughter back to me
I’m not asking for luxury. I’m begging for relief, safety, and the chance to feel human again. I dream of returning to Rio one day to see my home and hold my daughter, but right now I’m struggling just to survive.
If my story reaches your heart, please don’t look away. Any amount helps. Even sharing this story can change everything.
